FSY Registration Information
Bishoprics can begin approving youth for FSY registration on September 10, 2024. Youth can then preregister for FSY from October 22, 2024, to January 14, 2025. During preregistration, youth can indicate their session and group preferences. This significantly improves their chances of attending their preferred session with up to five other youth if desired. Some processes have changed from previous years, including no longer accommodating requests for stakes to attend together.
All youth participating in an FSY conference must meet the following requirements:
Youth must be no younger than 14 by December 31 of the year they attend and no older than 18 by the end of the FSY session they attend.
Youth must strive to follow the principles taught in the following link: For the Strength of Youth: A Guide for Making Choices.
Be willing to follow the behaviors outlined in the following links: FSY Conference Standards of Conduct and FSY Policies.
Youth must not have committed or be suspected of committing a sexual offense or felony, whether convicted or not.
In addition to the requirements above, youth attending in-person sessions must meet the following requirements:
Youth must stay with their group and be able to safely participate in person at an FSY conference. Please see FSY Conference Accessibility for more information.
Youth must be able to self-regulate behaviorally, socially, and emotionally and be capable of managing their personal safety and mental and physical health.
Youth must be fully recovered from any hospitalization for mental health, inpatient treatment, self-harm, or suicidal-related behaviors. Youth who have attempted suicide or who have ongoing struggles with self-harm or suicidal ideation should likely attend a virtual FSY conference rather than an in-person FSY conference. The bishopric member submitting approvals must speak with his stake president and the youth’s parents or guardians before approving in-person FSY conference attendance for youth who have a history or ongoing struggles with these challenges.
Youth must not be on probation or parole for any crime. If a bishopric member would like to approve a youth on probation or parole to attend an FSY session, they must contact FSY conferences and receive permission to do so (1-800-453-3860, extension 2-1911).
Youth must have a parent or guardian or a designated adult willing and available to pick them up from FSY at any time within 2.5 hours of notice.
Youth Participation Agreement
All youth must sign a youth participation agreement during registration, which includes the FSY Conferences Standards of Conduct. Youth agree to abide by these standards while at the conference. Breaking the FSY Conference Standards of Conduct will result in speaking with the youth’s parents or bishop and may result in the youth returning home immediately at the youth’s own expense with no refund.
